Music

Recorded music collections are located in the audio-visual room across from the magazine and newspaper shelves. MPL carries all variety of music from classical, jazz and blues, R&B, rock, pop, gospel and soundtracks. You can browse the collections or search for a specific title, artist, or composer in the SWAN catalog.   The library owns over 1700 music CD’s.

NOTE: It is very important you learn how to place holds on music CD's especially new ones. Due to new procedures instituted by MLS, a Matteson owned CD will not be returned to this library if there is a hold on it placed by a patron from another library. The only way our CD will find its way back to our shelves is if there are no holds placed on it from patrons from other MLS libraries or if one of our patrons places a hold on it. For help learning how to place a holds contact Adult Services for adult material and Youth Services for children and teen items.
